Happy Spring!

One of the many perks of being a school teacher... SPRING BREAK! My vacation started as soon as I left my classroom on Friday. I am really looking forward to enjoying a week off. While I'm definitely going to cherish some relaxation time and fun in the sun, I also have a few things that I'd like to accomplish. As my husband always says, I won't ever get things done if I don't have a plan. So here is my attempt at planning out my free time. (Yes, it sounds crazy - but coming from a man who always gets things done, he would know!)

1) Get some sleep.

This is a definite must this spring break. Long gone are the days of sleeping in till 9 or 10. I may not be able to sleep in that long with the beautiful sun beating through my window; but I'm going to at least enjoy relaxing and taking my time to get up, instead of rushing to get ready.

2) Decorate master bedroom/bathroom.

We've lived in our house for one year now, and sadly our bedroom hasn't changed much since we moved in. This is the color scheme I am going for. Blue, greens, and natural wood colors. We already have the wood furniture (which I have grown to love) and a teal quilt. I just need to tie in some decorative pillows and wall art to spruce things up.

I'm going for more of the natural look in our bathroom. This was the closest thing I could find to the color of our walls and countertops. I like the idea of the curtain as a window treatment. I may do that for the one window we have, although I do like the natural lighting.

3) Write a new song.

Like I stated in a recent post, writing hasn't come easy for me in awhile. But I'm going to take this week to seek the Lord and what He's laid on my heart to share... and then write it. Truthfully.

Those are just a few of the plans for this week! I also want to enjoy a beach day with Josh. Hopefully we'll make it down there for the weekend. I am in desperate need of some Vitamin D. :)

Just call me Mrs. Robinson... or a Chameleon.

I am a horrible blogger. I blame it on the fact that I talk way too much in real life and cannot sit down long enough to gather a coherent thought. But anyway, I thought it would be good to update those of you who do happen to read this and wonder how and where I've been. I started a new job! It's the story of my life, but I think I may actually keep this one awhile. Haha. I am now the music and art teacher at a private school. Just call me, Mrs. Robinson. ;) It's been so great. I loved my old job at Eagle Eye and wouldn't have left it for any other job except this one. Teaching music and art doesn't even feel like work, but more like a passion. I teach a 7th grade music class every day. And 3 year olds - 6th grade classes once a week for music and art. :)

I am also finishing up my last semester of college. I take two afternoon theology classes on Tuesday and Thursdays - Problems in Philosophy and the Life of Paul. I found out today that I won't have a paper due in either of those classes... so I am praising the Lord for this! I can't wait to learn more. This is one of the great things about attending bible college - learning is fun, because it's more than just growing mentally, but spiritually as well.

Let's see... what else is new with me? Oh yes, my little sister is getting married this year! So I plan on spending lots of time helping her prepare for the big day on June 18th. Via the el Skyp-o. She lives four hours away. Boo to that.

That's pretty much it. I have enjoyed these past couple years living in Alabama. The culture is a little bit different, but a good change. I think I am like that reptile (wait, let me google it)... a chameleon, yes... that changes colors to adapt to its environment. I find I adapt, and even enjoy, change. And like someone pointed out to me the other day, teaching will be a good job for me... because I'll get a new group of students every year!
